Gutierrez was stationed at McConnell Air Force Base in Wichita, Kansas at the time of his arrest where he also violated military law for disobeying a direct order from him commanding officer to inform his partners of his HIV status before having sex with them and to always use a condom.
Gutierrez has been reported as beginning his well documented unprotected non-disclosure shenanigans in 2007 around the time he was diagnosed as HIV positive at an Aviano Air Base in Italy.
